What Farmables Should YOU Get?
This post is going to be more tailored to the early game players. Running the carry server I see a lot of people that are missing REM utility but have not invested the time to pick up some farmable utility to replace what they need. For all my carry guides I almost always assume farmable subs. Yet, I’ve still have people upset that I wouldn’t help them in a dungeon when they did not have the utility required.
This post is a work-in-progress and will be regularly updated to cover more and more content.
Even if someone says “don’t worry I’ll just do X and we can clear” there’s not a lot of trust in that statement.
So this article will really be to explore the farmable options you have as an early game player, how to get them and what they can be used for.
If you’re a new player and you’re mindlessly throwing stamina away at various dungeons that you may or may not be clearing, seriously consider farming some of the cards here instead. These are cards that I expect everyone to have in no particular order. They’re designated top tier for their relevance in day-to-day use.
Tengu
This is one of three cards in the game with 4 skill boosts and is the only one of the three that is farmable so definitely get one, get more if you want. I personally have 4 Tengus on hand at all times. Newer players often face the issue of not having many skill boosts so in coop, their skills don’t have a chance to come up before they die. Tengus help a lot for this in coop.
The easiest way to get a Tengu is Tengu descended which comes up roughly every 3 weeks. That’s a pretty long time to wait. So in the meantime you can farm gold from Weekend dungeons and buy the dungeon Descended Carnival for 3M coins. In this dungeon you’ll have 4 floors and each floor features 5 various descended bosses that’s used for evolutions. The first floor (Descended Carnival 1) has Tengu as the first monster you face.
But wait! That’s not all!
Goemon
Can also be obtained in Descended Carnival. He’s featured as first monster in the last floor, Arrival Carnival 1.
Goemon is extremely versatile for his ability to be a button leader for a lot of dungeons such as Star Treasure Thieves’ Den, Friday Dungeon Mythical, and more.
Goemon can also be obtained from The Thief Descended but similar to Tengu, this dungeon is not very common, hence, I recommend buying the Descended Carnival coin dungeon for both. NOTE: Descended Carnival is a guerilla dungeon that usually shows up once a week so you can save the coins if you really want to.
The good thing is, for the most part, Goemon is a one-and-done deal. It is EXTREMELY rare that you could ever really use two Goemon but it is important that he is fully evolved.
Pixel Echidna
Nothing really compares to the simplicity of this Lamia. When fully skilled up, she is a 10 turn cooldown, 3 turn delay. This means that you can stop most monsters from attacking for 3 turns. In coop, she is one of the most useful cards to have. I ask a lot of newer players to always bring at least one of these with them for unforeseen circumstances and unlike REM cards like Orochi and Exa-Hydra, her cooldown is much lower, even when unskilled. (Orochi / Hydra are 25 turns unskilled versus 15 for Echidna) The pixel form of Echidna also provides a very important skill boost.
Getting Echidna is not as simple though.
You can check her PADX page for a full list of locations where she drops.
For the highest chances of getting one:
Slightly difficult for newer players. The boss drop here is also quite useful for niche purposes. Jorm will be the only farmable inheritable poison in the future so it’s definitely worth keeping if you run this dungeon.
A VERY easy dungeon that should get you an Echidna with 40% chance for 20 stamina on the Master difficulty.
A decently easy dungeon. You can even get more than one Echidna per run. However this dungeon does not show up often.
Having two or three Echidnas is pretty useful for niche situations if you don’t have anything else, especially if you plan to seek help for dungeons. Machine Zeus requires 3 delays for carries. Keep in mind that you may have picked up an Echidna from the X-Mas seasonal REM from a free roll or any rolls after (most of the silvers have the same skill as Echidna and have a skill boost too).
Mechadon
Get one, get five. Mechadon is a VERY useful button to have around. He has the same skill as Ra or Ra Tamadra but is quite a bit more accessible than either of those two. Obviously if you have some of the REM buttons you won’t need five Mechadons. Buttons can be used to clear a multitude of dungeons quickly and effectively, see my post about push button farming for examples.
All you would need as a host is a few Mechadons, your partner can bring Tengus and you can clear a lot of content without even having to pick up an orb.
Mechadon is obtained only from the Taiko Dungeon which can be opened for 50K coins. The dungeon is relatively easy on the Oni difficulty. When running it you’ll preferably want to run Oni, but if not you can make to with the Hard difficulty. Taiko has a ton of useful cards in it making it an extremely valuable place to put stamina.
Pixel Lilith
Continuing the button trope is Lilith. She has the same cooldowns as Echidna and is the second shortest poison cooldown in the game (shortest is Swallowtail which is a lot harder to make). Poisons differ from true damages in that the damage only activates at the end of your turn, after you move orbs. When carrying dungeons that have predras and other floors that can be killed with a poison OR true damage, generally the poison is preferred because it passes the turn back to the carrier instead of the person being helped moving onto the next floor and getting hit. So the poison mechanic can be used to make carries smoother and in general it’s always useful to have a poison around. The pixel form of Lilith provides a very important skill boost.
Similar to Echidna, places to farm her are a bit hit-and-miss. BUT we have the best dungeon in the world to help us with this. Once again, please welcome Taiko Dungeon. In here you’ll find Note Reaper Plus which is an equivalent to Lilith (same skill) which saves you the trouble of hunting her down where she doesn’t drop as frequently. Furthermore, not only is Note Reaper Plus very common, you can get multiples in every run. Make sure to run the Hard or Oni difficulties which saves you an evolution step.
Lolidra
You were wondering when I was going to include this weren’t you?
Myr is one of the strongest leads in the game. Her and Radra are the only ones that are farmable and technically if you run Myr Mythical Plus you’ll be farming Myr and MP for Radra at the same time.
So why is Myr so strong?
ATK x7.7, reduce damage taken by 50% after matching Heal orbs in a cross formation. Increases time limit of orb movement by 2 seconds.
The effective stats that you get for making a heart cross make it a 4x HP, 59.25x ATK, 4x RCV leader. Myr is one of the least REM weighted cards in the game. One of the players I mentored a while back was strictly no-REM cards (so he never pulled in the REM). I remember getting him Myr on opening weekend and that same weekend he cleared Arena for the first time with her. Myr is incredibly powerful and is capable of even Arena 3 with just farmable cards (either in coop with someone that can bring some utility, or with some luck).
She’s available at all times from her dungeon which can be purchased for 500K coins or when her special dungeon comes around. The dungeon is quite easy given that there’s a simple system in place for clearing it. If you need help clearing it the first time, make sure to join the Discord Server where you can ask for team building help, dungeon clearing help, ranking dungeon help, or just learn about the game.
Farming it after is quite simple. Evolve Myr and simply use her to clear her own dungeon. It helps if you’ve worked on some light type cards for subs.
Dios
Kono Dios Da!
One of the strongest farmable cards in the game, having one or more Dios gives you a good opportunity to farm dungeons when pairing with the likes of ALB or even with other Dios leads. He makes a full board of Wood orbs and also has a multi-boost awakening giving him effectively 1381 weighted stats before accounting for plus eggs when running him in coop (which is normally where you’ll want to run him). He’s used in some button setup variations instead of Goemon and as a sub for himself or ALB for farming. Zeus Dios is an easy dungeon to clear and there are opportunities all over the place to farm him. You can run Green Bowl Dragon from coins when it’s in the shop, you can run Hera-Beorc (much longer than the Dios dungeon) or the Awoken Ceres guerilla dungeon which gives you two skillup fodders every run while only being two floors! There’s no shortage of opportunities for farming Dios and having 3-4 is highly recommended. (Most of the time, 3 will cover all your needs since the last slot is utility)
Buzzcut Goblin Plus
I told you Taiko would come back. Again, like Mechadon and Note Reaper Plus, the evolved form is obtained from the Hard or Oni difficulties. This monster is a skillup material for Susano so it provides a 50% shield for 5 turns. That’s right, 5 whole turns of shield. You can use this in lots of situations, such as stalling out monsters that have status shields (can’t delay them) for 5 turns or more. One good example is Myr in her dungeon when she has a 5 turn damage shield making it impossible to killer her for 5 turns. You also can’t delay her at all. So I actually use Susano to deal with that for the whole 5 turns.
Grodin TAMADRA
Not much to say about this card, but that does not mean it isn’t useful. Awakening bind mechanics in dungeons are fairly common these days, and this card provides the answer most of the times. It also has a skill boost which is very useful and convenient in carry set-ups. The great thing about this card is that more often than not, you do not need to skill it up. 17 turns is not too long of a skill cooldown in most set-ups. I suggest getting two copies of this, then fusing them with each other for the skill boost awakening.
You can obtain this card from TAMADRA village, or Legendary Mountain Path, which is the 99 stam technical where you obtain Threedia.
Raph Doge
This little bork is the skillup material to Raphael. When activated, changes all orbs to heart orbs and gives you a 100% damage shield for two turns. It even comes with a skill boost. It’s used in a lot of niche purposes for special dungeon carry setups but can also be used in a general panic-button style of shield for light teams. The on-demand full-heal and damage shield might just save you.
Can be obtained from Water and Light Dog Dragon which is a coin dungeon that rotates in and out of the shop. Otherwise, Scarlet Sky’s Dimension Dragon (Tsubaki Skillup) dungeon. The Tsubaki dungeon is arguably better than its own dungeon…
That covers all the farmables that you can reasonably get as a newer player. If you have any more questions feel free to pass by the Discord Server by clicking the banner below!
Great write-up. I would recommend maybe adding a note to get and skill an Anji next time it comes around. He’s used in so many button setups and is only available when his dungeon is here. Can be easily skilled up on the lowest level of difficulty on 2x drops too.
This post was really dedicated solely for the 5 main cards I think everyone should have at any rank. I’m working on a more comprehensive post of farmables in the game and what they’re used for which includes collabs like Grida and Anji.
Hello and thank you for this helpful post !
I have started Pad in january and would like to know if this list has remained up to date ?
Everything is still up to date except Myr is no longer relevant. The rest of them are still relevant for new players.
